This year Hong Kong will be traveling to Macau for the annual inter-port. Previously, Hong Kong has won the previous inter-port trophy as well as beating Macau 6-0 during the East Asian Games. On the other side, Macau would be looking to continue their development for the future. Macau has not particapted in a FIH International Tournament since 2006 and as a result they no longer feature in the FIH world rankings.

The Men's national team will be led by Hong Kong Team Vice Captain Shafiq Mirza with Captain Akbar Ali working overseas, this will be the final game before the team travels for the Asian Games Qualifier in Dhaka, Bangladesh from the 7th of May - 16th May. The top 6 teams will qualify for the tournament.
